The Zero Euro is a novelty Souvenir Banknote, authorized by the ECB- European Central Bank, which is printed by a private fiduciary printing company. Zero Euro notes were created in 2015 by Richard Faille of France to promote tourism at tourist attractions all over Europe. The notes are tested to ensure they do not pass as real banknotes although they look and feel like real currency since they are printed on the same paper and have the same characteristics of a legal tender banknote- micro fibers, a watermark, micro printing and security features only visible under UV blacklight. The obverse of all notes have the same design, a white zero in the top left corner followed by the Euro symbol. A foil security strip with the denomination runs vertically from top to bottom in the center. A watermark on the left side is visible when held up to a light. From left to right, are images of the Brandenburg Gate, Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum, Sagrada Familia, Manneken Pis and the Mona Lisa on the far right. The reverse of all notes have a European flag in the top left corner followed by a purple zero, a silver hologram in the top right corner and a six-digit serial number in the bottom right corner. The center has different images of animals, buildings, portraits, airplanes, statues, venues, etc.
