Description: Charming, one of a kind original photograph removed from an old album. Writing on the back explains, to some degree anyway: "Taken July 29, 1928 at Diamond Lil show at 249 West 45th St, New York while at work with Steam Corporation job with the gang of men there." Sure enough, the photo shows a particularly cheerful group of workers in and around a hole in the street, plenty of smiles, in relaxed poses, drinking beer and holding signs promoting Mae West's show at the Royale Theater. Pretty sure OSHA wouldn't approve of the beer-while-working thing, but hey, it was 1928 and things were different. Looks like a lot more fun. Condition of this photo is ok, as you can see... it has been protected for years in an old album, but it's not perfect. Detail is good. It's a sepia-toned 1928 print that's a bit lighter on the left than the right side. Two of the little corners are missing. And there are a few tiny lines and scratches here and there. It measures about 3.75" tall and about 5.5" wide. You're buying the only one of these that exist. No copies have been made. I've protected your purchase of this original image by lightly adding our name within the Ebay photos here and there, but of course the 1928 item you'll receive doesn't have any of that on it. Lastly, all vintage and antique original photo sales are final and are not returnable.
