Description: Edmonia Lewis was born a Free Black on the 4th of July in 1844, she was half Black and half Mississauga Ojibwe Indian. Edmonia was the first Black woman to achieve International recognition for her art, she was mainly a sculptor, but painted also.I found three old images of her that were really in bad shape, as would be expected from a 150+ year old picture....but I did my best to restore the three images, getting rid of the cracks and spots and other damage. The images were Black and White, but I did my best to 'Digitally Paint' them....not an easy task when the image have very low DPI.I put three of her most recognized pieces in the designs also, they were 'Forever Free', 'The Old Arrow Maker' and 'The Death of Cleopatra'....all with backgrounds that related to the statue or Ms Lewis. I am offering this set of three (3) JVC CACHETS designs for the 2022 'EDMONIA LEWIS' issue. They are a LIMITED EDITION of only 20 per design. They are also being offered as single covers in my ebay store. All JVC Cachets are 100% Guaranteed, if for ANY reason you don't like them, simply send them back for a full refund.
