Description: Ipomoea purpurea is an annual morning glory species which almost everyone new to growing vines grows first. This cultivar, 'Saiko', is a Japanese-developed morning glory which shows unusual traits of green-on-green variegated leaf and flowers showing pale yellow in the primary folds and a sweet lavender flaked color pattern that seemed to be isolated between the primary folds. Happiness will overcome you once you lay eyes on the flowers and leaves. On rare occasion the variegated leaf trait isn't expressed. That's why it is good to sow and grow several plants. Why not try growing something different this year? Please be aware that the plant's flowers are open pollinated. There is a small chance for cross-pollination.
