Description: The third entrant in Intellivision's "Gaming Network" line, Horse Racing simulates a day at the races with as many as six players betting a ten-race program. Realism is the rule as the game provides an onscreen racing form, pari-mutuel odds, various track conditions (turf, dry or wet tracks), a field of eight horses with randomly selected characteristics (slow on turf, distance runners, etc.), and much more. Unlike real horse racing, players can improve their horses' chances by positioning them, "coaxing" them into a minor burst of speed or "whipping" them into giving it their all. A smart, highly unusual game, Horse Racing has nice graphics and sounds, highlighted by a nice rendition of the "William Tell Overture "As an opening theme. Cartridge Only. Label has some wear.
