Description: This listingn is for the - KK4HXJ - IM Series Test Probe Kit This kit includes the hardware and wire needed to build a set of replacement test probes for all Heathkit IM Series VTVM's ( Vacuum Tube Volt Meters) This includes the IM-11, IM-13, IM-18, IM-28, IM-5218, IM-5228 Heathkit "Solid State VTVM's" the IM-16 and IM-25 and many other VTVMs which are rebranded Heathkit models which use a single 1/4" phone style probe connection Genuine Philmore 912/913J Test Probes/Prods The original probes used a switch at the tip of the probe to switch the Resistor in/out of the circuit for DC or AC/Ohms measurements - whereas this design simply has a seperate probe for each - this solution has been used since the 1970's by many as even then the original switchable probes were not easy to replace This dual probe setup (or "Siamese Probe"), serves as a substitute for the original test probes often missing, damaged or incomplete This design eliminates the need for a switched probe and uses one probe for DC Measurement (with the resistor installed) and another probe for AC/Ohms Measurement.
