Description: For auction is a fantastic early table top standing oil lamp. This lamp has all kinds of things going on. The burner has 2 patent dates, March and April of 1876. I cannot find a name on the burner or lamp. As seen the burner is brass, does have the wick, and the knob works great to move the wick up and down. The burner sits in a brass plate on top of a frosted glass font with coin dot design. Under that is a brass column which sits atop of a very cool abstract multi color glass tube. That continues to a clear section, then a brass ring, onto the black color glass base. NOT including the chimney the lamp stands about 14 1/2 inches tall to the top of the burner. The bottom base measures 5 3/4 inches in diameter. It has a chimney, I dont know if its the original or not, this was found at an old estate. The lamp is very old, and it does show some use wear. The brass burner shows some normal wear, the plate under it has some rubs, finish wear, and a couple spots of light green corrosion. The coin dot globe shows some rubs and other light use wear. The brass column shows normal light wear, as does the colored glass column. There are 2 damage points to note, The metal plate with holes inside of the bottom base does have a large crack, see my photo, but it doesn't affect the lamp in any way. Also there are multiple chips and fleabites on the bottom lip of the black base. Also the black base does show some light rubs and light scratches. I have not attempted to use this lamp, so it may work great or may need TLC if someone choose to use it, I dont know, Im not an expert on these. Overall its not bad shape for being 150 years old.
