When you open the box you're likely intially to think it looks like 10k or 14k and you can certainly wear it right along side any of your solid karat golds. There is nothing costumey or fake looking about 12k gold fill and this is a stunning example of it. Many years ago I read about what makes it special on a listing of an Australian seller that specialized in mostly gold filled items - man oh man did she list sooooo many beauties. It's an alloy that is completely coated in a thick layer of the solid 12k gold. If you look in to info about vintage12k gold fill, they say it's actually these days about equivalent to buying solid 10k. The alloy is such that it makes the gold fills stronger than the sold karats. Anyway - I'm a big bracelet fan - only daughter of a woman that loved jewelry. Much of her collection is the solid karats and semiprecious stones but she also had an amazing collection of all kinds of beaded necklaces and a fabulous collection of the 12k gf and 14k gf bracelets. I'm just getting started listing lots of fabulous jewelry. If you've never heard of people that collect paperweights then make sure to treat yourself to the discovery. I've got over 100 listed.
