Description: Antique 19th Century American Federal Mirror with Reverse Painted Glass Panel and Acorn PendantsCa 1820-1840This mirror has a naive reverse painted glass panel of a landscape with a house and lake or pond.The reverse painting is original to mirror and is in excellent condition. Reeded flat columns with turned bases and capitals. The top header beneath the shelf has applied wood foliate decoration. Features an extended crest shelf with acorn pendants at the top of the mirror. The mirror measures 16-1/8 inches wide x 28-1/4 in. tall and 3 in. DThe reverse painted panel is 10-5/8 in x 8 in. And has some minor losses. The mirror glass in the lower portion of the mirror is likely an old replacement and measures 14” x 10-1/2 in. The mirror is old and is in very good condition, presents with some crazing to silver at margins. The original backing, probably pine boards, is missing and mirror will benefit from replacement. Weight, unpacked: 4 lbs., 5 oz.
