Antique Gilbert Tambour Clock "Sound" c1922 Sounds Great (Cleaned/Working)

Description: This antique Gilbert Tambour Clock "Sound" from 1922 is a stunning piece that will add character to any room. The clock weighs 7 lbs 8 ounces and measures 20 inches in length, 10 inches in height, and 5 1/2 inches in width. This antique clock is a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts alike. I purchased the clock as not working, but the clock was easily fixed with just a few minor adjustments. The movement is in working order and keeps accurate time. I cleaned and polished all the components and re-bushed pivot holes that were causing excessive friction.The mainsprings were removed and greased and the movement oiled. I have run through three full 8-day cycles and the clock runs and strikes great. I let the clock run until it stopped and it ran for 14 days and struck accurately the whole time. The strike is a Bim-Bam dual rod strike on the hour and a single rod passing strike on the half hour. The tone is very nice and warm. The movement is stamped with "22" which I believe is the year of manufacture (based on the model this seems accurate). The case is in very good to excellent shape.The case is very well built, much heavier than other clocks of this type. There are very few scratches or dents. The finish is showing slight age on the front (very slight alligatoring), so I sanded slightly (not enough to remove any color or stain). I then waxed with bee's wax and polished. The mahogany color and grain look great. The bottom of the case is stamped with "2046" which signifies the "Sound" Model. The bezel had been modified, but I was able to repair it back to its original configuration. There are however 2 extra small holes on the inside dial bezel, which are hidden when the glass door is closed. The bezel now functions as was intended and the brass exterior looks very nice. The glass is clean with no flaws. The dial was slightly worn. I did cover a few worn areas with rub-and-buff and it looks a lot better (please see pictures). The pendulum bob is original and I purchased a key which is included and not original. Please ask if you have any question - I try to be open, so there are no surprises. I am not an expert, but I do try to identify the positives and negatives about an item that I would want to know about if I was a buyer myself.
