He used a number of Firebird models over the years including a 1964 Firebird I and Firebird III, all carrying significant modifications. Shown here is the ‘64 Firebird III he acquired in 1974. Modifications include a chrome dog-eared P-90 pickup in the bridge, a Gibson nickel ‘teaspoon’ vibrato, Leo Quan ‘Badass’ bridge and the removal of volume and tone controls. The illustration of this famous guitar is original and has been produced by George Morgan following extensive research.
