Description: 2 - 4th July Patriotic Antique Postcards.Washington.Firecrackers.PUBL:Lounsbury This is a nice SET of 2 PATRIOTIC postcards that show GEORGE WASHINGTON "fighting" with the "Red Coats" with FIRECRACKERS. The message at the bottom identifies Washington by name. These postcards are ANTIQUE from the early 1900s. These are comic postcards and have some humor to them. In the postcards, George Washington is dressed in BLUE colonial outfits, and the British soldier is dressed in a RED military outfit. In one, the firecracker is going to blow up next to the soldier, and in the other Washington is sitting on the firecracker and hitting the soldier. Note that this postcard has some paper scratches at the bottom message area. These are PATRIOTIC postcards with a theme of victory. They were published by Fred Lounsbury, a well respected publisher of that era. These postcards are ARTIST SIGNED by Bunnel. They are part of the Series #2076. Overall, this is a nice set of antique patriotic postcards! These are collector items because of their age, Lounsbury as the publisher, being artist signed, and their appeal to Washington and patriotic postcard collectors. The postcards are POSTED with cancel dates of 1910. The postcards are nicely EMBOSSED, and have DIVIDED back. They were most likely "Printed in Germany". These are BETTER POSTCARDS and are good for a collector or dealer. They will keep their value. Often these postcards are sold as individual items for many dollars each. They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some creases, stains and edge wear due to their age. The photos show the postcards and their backs.
