Buy U.S. Bonds Stamps Sign Poster Modern Style WWII Original Date: 1942 Artist: Unknown Size (in): 28" x 11" Size (cm): x 27.9 Condition: B-/C+ Linen backed: No This is a vintage original trolly car style horizontal format poster issued in 1942 to help promote the sale of war bonds and war saving stamps. For this poster the unknown artist renders a Modern style image of a war plane flying overhead with the words Keep It Up! and Buy U.S. Bonds Stamps appearing in the image and on the underside of the airplane. This poster is printed one side only on lightweight cardboard in the format most commonly used for overhead advertising on streetcars, buses and passenger trains. This is a rare poster which we don’t trace at auction. This poster shows moderate handling wear including a short tear or crack of about an inch on the lower edge near the right corner. The poster has a couple small chips or nicks on the edges including the tips of upper left and lower right corners. The poster also shows some foxing which is rather heavy in places.
